Summer Bridge Digital Arts

Project Overview: As an educator I believe it’s important to teach students how to look critically at technology and to empower youth to take more ownership over their relationship with digital media. While teaching a digital arts class for the Youth Art Exchange Summer Bridge program, I taught a group of thirty rising 9th graders how to use free digital platforms as creative tools. The goal of this course was to teach students how to create their own digital artifacts, and help them with practical skills that they can use outside of the classroom. Over the course of the summer we worked collaboratively on a typface, created our own GIFs, and began the process of designing wesbites. This website is a collection of all of their work.
